Pet Peeves
Date / Time : Saturday, April 21, 2007 / 10:15:00 AM |
1. Pa-conyo people. Take note of PA. Ugh. They are sooo cheap. They feel they're so conyo just because their friends are conyo. What annoys me most about them is that they try so hard. So what if you're not conyo? So long as you carry yourself well, then you're good. 2. People who think that not knowing Filipino or any dialect makes them angat. Whatever. I hate it when people pretend to mispronounce Filipino words just so people would think that they were raised using the english language. Pathetic. And some of them haven't even been outside the country. 3. People who won't even touch or try streetfoods. I know, I know, they'd say it's their health and all. I respect it if that's the case but I really hate those people who say that just so they'd be tagged as angat. That they haven't tried any tsupipay foods in their entire life. Yeah, people like THAT exist. Hello. Ang SARAP kaya ng isaw, dugo, bbq, kwek-kwek, kalamares. 4. Copycats. Of course, who doesn't? But it gets on my nerves when someone immitates almost everything another person does. Like their choice of words, expressions, mannerisms, hobbies, interests etc. etc. Pati POST TITLES sa blog ginagaya. Kulang na lang pati hand-writing gayahin eh. Hahaha. What ticks me off the most is that they try those things just to show that they're better than you in things you're good at. Okay, moving on. 5. Inggitero/a. When you have a new thing, inggiteros make nasty remarks about it like it was free or something in front of a lot of people. I had my fair share of experience with This kind of people. People who look down on other people and really question their puchasing power. Let me tell you this: There are people who remain quiet about what they got and there are people who flaunt their stuff. 6. People who smoke. Okay, not generally but I hate people who smoke in front of me even though they know that I don't smoke at all. etc. etc. --I woke up this morning feeling annoyed at almost everyone. Yeah, yeah, pretty pathetic but I guess it resulted because of the fact that it's technically my first day. Hey, no offense. PS:
OJT: Day 9
Date / Time : Friday, April 20, 2007 / 10:37:00 AM |
April 20. 72 hrs. I was in field today :)We left Chinabank Head Office at 1pm. Sir David and I went to Chinabank Megamall and Registry of Deeds of San Juan. We went there to follow up a 10 million loan. But anyway, I have to keep quiet because of R.A. 1405, the law on bank secrecy and confidentiality. Hahaha. Ang galing :) I learned about TCT*, the four process of mortages* and the preference of lien. Ganun pala yun, a bank never loans money to a client more than 60 percent of the total of mortgage. Plus, you can transfer a mortgage to another bank pala even if you're already in a bank. Also, the one who is annotated first in the TCT is considered as the superior lien. AND-- a very important lesson learned. Never lose a TCT because it costs 20,000 pesos excluding attorney's fees and other fees. Sir David and I went mall hopping. Haha not exactly pero I went to 4 malls this day. Megamall, SM Centerpoint, Gateway and Farmer's. We finished early at the Registry of Deeds at around 3pm so Sir David treated me to a halo-halo. :) Saya. Then at around 4pm, uwi na ko. Early dismissal :) Too bad Pat was left in Makati :) I called Bank of Commerce nga pala to tell them that I'm interested in them. They called me the week before holy week kasi and I turned them down as I thought I was going through the 200 hours in Chinabank. Anyway, I want to work in Tintin's but they haven't called me yet and the deadline of Notice of Practicum is coming up. So if all else fails, Mama secured a job for me at the Hall of Justice in City Hall, Q.C. There it would be about the legal side na talaga :) Oh well, wish me luck. TCT* - Transfer of Certificate Title process of mortages* - annotation, consolidation, foreclosure and litigation

Date / Time : Saturday, April 14, 2007 / 8:32:00 PM |
Magkaiba kasi I was only opting for a pedicure but then 'yung girl, ininsist niya na pati hands ko lagyan. I considered having the color not suitable for work so she suggested French tip na lang sa hands. Hehehe funny.Waw. Saya, 'la ako ginagawa:) Ate Sha and I bonded by going to Let's face it, Circle C*. I had a manicure and pedicure while she had her eyelashes permed. All expense paid by my very generous and very gwapong kuya PR. Hehehe (Thanks!). Ronnie, ate's boyfriend, waited for us. Hehe tagal. Btw, I bought a top for work. Wooh! I can't wait til next weekend. :P Circle C* - It's this small Robinson's at Congressional. Good for bargains and shoppings if you have a budget limit. DVD buyers' heaven. :)

OJT: Day 4
Date / Time : / 11:04:00 PM |
April 13. 32hrs. I arrived at Paseo de Roxas at around 7:45am. Though the traffic was a little heavy, it took me only 1 hour to travel from the gate of our house to 12th floor of Chinabank Head Office. It's really great because the buendia fx drops me off at exactly Chinabank everyday except on Mondays when kuya Alain drives me there. :) Today was very exciting because Pat and I... answered a Sudoku and a crossword puzzle! Hehehe. Since we've finished all of the Opinions yesterday: Atty Vigilia: Relaks lang muna kayo. Just wait for Atty. Dumlao's instructions for research. x x x I was reading a newspaper at work and an article entitled " Tondo Fruit Vendor Selling Shabu" by Jeamma Sabate. A part read: The male customer eluded arrest. She allegedly yielded 10 pieces of plastic sachet allegedly containing suspected shabu. It reminded me of those headlines presented by Ms. Julie Yap Daza at a symposium I attended in TARC, Ms. Daza as the guest-speaker. She told us about how the local police loves using (incorrectly) the word ALLEGEDLY. Funny kasi when you look at the title, it imposes on the reader that it was proven that the fruit vendor already sold shabu, but when you read the article, everything is just suspicions and allegations. Also, take note how the sentence was worded and arranged: ALLEGEDLY + ALLEGEDLY + SUSPECTED. Okay. Enough said. Oh well, that's journalism these days. Sorry for the mistaken identity last post. It was Atty. Quintanilla's birthday, not Atty. Holgado. Lucky Pat and me. We didn't spend anything for lunch! Yey. Lunch for the whole L&C* Department c/o of Atty. Quintanilla. Today's Menu: Pork Tenderloin with sprouts and soup. I spent the rest of the day reading the Labor Code Book 5 Annotated by J.Chan --because by 2pm, the relaks-lang-kayo period became a deadly boring period. I read 40+ pages! Hehe sorry, proud. I forgot to tell you that what's nice about the L&C Dept. is that it has a legal library. It has a complete volume of SCRA*, other legal opinion books, Codes and Bank books--not savings, books about banking systems. Hehe. It's not big but it's a 2mX4m room filled with books on shelves. Pat reads cases in SCRA while I read the Labor Code. But don't be fooled because we don't have allowances. Hehehe. After work, Pat and I went to Glorietta (that we pass everyday to go home, as in pass LANG. Haha) for our post-monthsary date. We just window-shopped and ate at kamay-kainan at food choices. Ang cheap ng food namin because we got 3 cups of rice, 2 pcs. of crispy chicken, a plate of sisig, a cup of toge and 2 8oz. iced tea for only 150pesos (150/2= 75pesos each). Hah! Beat that. Hehehe. Then we went to Timezone where we spent almost 200 worth of credit at the Dreamcatcher where we got ZERO carebear but it includes credit spent on basketball games. So we went home happy and that's how day 4 ended. P.S. I bought a Sudoku at NB before we left g2. L&C* - Legal and Collection SCRA* - Supreme Court Reports Annotated
OJT: Day 3
Date / Time : Thursday, April 12, 2007 / 8:51:00 PM |
April 12. 24hrs. Yey! At last, I've finished all the Opinions we were asked to read. Waw. Pat and I took me 3 and a half days to read all of them. [x] Cash Part I [x] Cash Part II [x] Tax [x] Service Agreements [x] Trust Opinions [x] - Finished reading I've taken down notes especially about Taxes since we're going to have Taxation this Fourth Year. I've also taken down significant laws such as R.A. 1405 (Law on Secrecy), R.A. 9243 (Law on DST*), R.A. 7432 (Senior Citizens Act) and other legal provisions. Although I didn't understand some of the opinions I've read, I have to say I've learned naman quite a lot. The good thing about OJT is that you don't have to take work with you when you go home. No assignments, no homeworks. Weeee. Saya. We had lunch again at the cafeteria and super sarap at mura ng food! Imagine, a cup of rice is only 5 pesos and then you can get an extra rice for only 3 pesos! We got our viands* for 28 pesos each and since Pat and I share viands, super sulit! Nice. Today's menu: "Pork Cubes in Peanutbutter sauce"* "Pork balls in sweet and sour sauce" After lunch, we attended the Bible Study at 10th floor. It was about whether you believe there's life after death. I enjoyed listening to two sharers. We were all asked about our most victorious moment but only two were able to share their amazing stories because we ran out of time. The Bible Study was conducted by Atty. Vigilia and I am in awe of that man. He knows the passages of the Bible by memory. Another thing why I am in awe of him is that he's very balanced. He's career successful and spiritually high. Atty. Albert Alcala was promoted to Vice President of Legal and Collection Division! Pat and I were finishing reading the Opinions then suddenly, Rose called us. She was motioning for the room in the middle so we walked toward it then it hit us. The smell of food... We ate again and let me tell you, S-A-R-A-P. Chicken in a stick, baked mac in white sauce, lumpiang shanghai and... 2 different flavors of ice cream. I wanted to get ice cream but too bad I had phlegm. yaakk. Hahaha. Sana parating may napropromote. Tomorrow's Atty. Holgado's birthday. Hmmmnn. Before day 3 ended, Pat and I realized that it's not pathetic - OJT in Chinabank. Me: Galit ka? Pat: Oo, galit ako. Me: *smiles* x x x DST* - Documentary Stamp Tax viands* - ulam sa ingles "Pork Cubes in Peanutbutter sauce"* - aka Kare-kare
OJT: Day 2
Date / Time : Wednesday, April 11, 2007 / 8:46:00 PM |
April 11. 16hrs. Those who were absent on day 1 were already present. Like I have said the day before, most of the R&F there at the Legal and Collection Department came from UST. They were friendly and they kept on interrogating me about UST, the professors and me. Whenever they would ask about Pat and I, I would just shrug and then tell them "Classmate po kami nung first year." Rose - is a BA Commerce graduate last 2003. She is already married with a fellow Thomasian 4 years her senior. She told me they met because of Pax Romana. She was also a San Lorenzo Ruiz Scholar. Glen - is a girl and an AB Economics graduate last 2004. She told me she's planning to resign in order to study 3d animation. Shirley - an LM graduate. She graduated last 2001. She's nice pala and she's going to resign because she'll be reviewing for the bar exams. ? - is a 34 year old guy (but looks 28) and he's a Political Science graduate. I haven't met the rest. I heard from Glen that it's Atty. Vigilia's last year at Chinabank. I wasn't really surprised since the Opinions we were reading dated several years back was all signed by him. I guess he wants to enjoy his retirement. Speaking of Opinions, I have just finished reading 2 out of 4 Opinions. 1 inch thick each. pheewww. [ ] Cash Part I [x] Cash Part II [x] Tax [ ] Service Agreements [ ] Trust Opinions [ ] - Finished [x] - Unfinished Day 1 we ate at McDonalds afterwhich we surveyed the cafeteria of Chinabank. It's inside the building so only employees eat there. So, Pat and I had lunch today at the cafeteria. Waw. Super saraaap tas mura pa. But don't go to the specialty area because you'll spend about 70-90pesos for a meal there. Today's menu (for Pat and I): "Meat Balls in Pepper Sauce" "Don't remember" - no, really, I forgot its name. So anyway, MEDYO pathetic ng work sa Chinabank. Haha Pat: Love you.. Me: Pero hindi love na love. Pat: Hindi...! Love na love Me: Sabi mo hindi mo ko love na love na love na love Pat: Love na love na love na love kitaaaa..! Me: Love you more! x x x
OJT: Day 1
Date / Time : Tuesday, April 10, 2007 / 9:07:00 PM |
April 10. 8 hours. Welcome to the Corporate World Ms. Agatha Kristy Ramos!I've never met so many lawyers. Though some of them were not present at day1, Pat and I will be working with the following lawyers: [x]Atty. Vigilia - our supervisor and the Legal and Collection division head [x]Atty. Alcala [x]Atty. Maningding [x]Atty. Landrito [x]Atty. Dumlao [x]Atty. Briones [ ]Atty. Boromeo - referred Pat [ ]Atty. Tan * [ ]Atty. Bernardino [ ]Atty. Quintanilla [ ]Atty. Ramirez [ ]Atty. Santos [x]Atty. Alana (?) [x]Atty. Holgado [x] Present for today [ ] absent * the only UST Law School Graduate in the sea of Ateneo and UP Lawyers (?) not sure about the surname and I really don't want to know more about a stuck-up lawyer like her First day was awkward. We were interviewed by Atty. Vigilia... Him: Why Chinabank? Me: According to my aunt, Chinabank has a bigger Legal department than other banks... Him: You haven't done your research. Me: Ahhhhww... Him: Who is your aunt? Me: uhhh, Atty. ******* Him: *Laughs* Me: *Scared to death and kicking Pat's left foot* Him: Your aunt was right. Me: *deeply relieved.* haaay. x x x Him: How about Ags... Me: I chose (haha wrong grammar) UP because it's cheaper. Also, besides the fact that UST does not have many topnotchers, I want to go to UP because most of the bar topnotchers came from UP...which is a manifestation that UP is a good law school. Him: *Belly laugh* Me: *did I do something wrong?* -only in my mind Him: Thank you for the compliment. I came from UP. Me: *Awed* x x x Shirley, an R&F*, is an LM graduate from UST and Pat and I hate her. Not hate hate, just hate-dislike. She made us sort these 115 branch files of different persons and entities in garnishments*. hmmff. Our assignment for day 2 would be to read volumes 1-4 of the Opinions. Btw, most of the R&F there at our Division came from UST. Ang pathetic ng OJT sa Chinabank.. R&F* - Rank and file employee Garnishments* - documents (or subpoenas) advising the bank to hold certain accounts to pay for an obligation.
Backpacking
Date / Time : Friday, April 06, 2007 / 11:23:00 PM |
AT 2:30am, ate Sha and I will be backpacking to Mindoro. Okay... not exactly backpacking but we are going on an adventure. We're going to Mindoro on our own. For the first time. Papa, Mama and kuya Alain are already there since Tuesday because we decided (wrong decision) to stay here for the holy week. By the time Wednesday came, ate Sha and I got bored so here I am, getting ready for the trip. It's been about 8 years since I went there so I'd probably be in for a surprise. The beach. The food. The fiesta. I'll be back on Monday since I have to be here before tuesday for OJT. Oh well, so much for summer... I hope the trip for Baguio would push through.

Purrrrrrr. :) I am still alive, alert and awake (enthusiastic) until now. And since I am still energized, I decided to go thru the whole day without sleeping. Hence, I drank extra joss. Think whatever you like, nasasarapan ako sa kanya eh. Tastes like cali minus the shandy. Hahaha. So later, I'm going to UST to get my clearance and then Pat and I are going to greenhills to look for a USB data cable and we are going to watch Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Number 1 daw sa US last week according to E! news. Pat is definitely working his half of 200hrs at BIR Makati. Sad... But he says it's just 50 steps away from Chinabank building so we still can have lunch together. Oh well. Moving on, I think I'll pursue law after all even if I don't pass UP law school. Only 150 students are accepted there as freshmen and since the very beautiful and smart Katherine Conde didn't make it, my hopes dropped. Sabi ni Papa okay lang sa kanya Ateneo but I'm still thinking about it because it's too expensive. Nakakahiya naman kasi sa totoo lang, after graduating college, I should get a job na and be the one to pay for my tuition. Pero... pilit naman ni Mama, sila daw bahala. So the best option is UP, even though 300% na ang tuition. Hehehe. Gulo. Pero last option ko is UST kasi according to Pat, may automatic tuition fee defrayal kapag cum laude graduate ka. It's great I guess, but the question is, will I ever reach the limits of my potential sa UST? I really don't know... pero kung sa bagay, nagtop naman si Arlene Maneja sa bar kahit ust siya. Para tuloy excited na ako maglaw-school. But there's another problem, it spurs from my kuya and his invitation. Bahala na nga. Wherever the wind blows me... wooosh.

It was Papang's ninth day last Sunday and we went to Project 8. We prayed the rosary and had dinner with Tita Litz and Tita Buen's family. Papa has four sisters and a brother but Tito Manny and Tita Nelly are both in the states while Tita Reine is probably in a remote island helping the less fortunate(she's a nun). It was a small gathering but solemn and a little funny. Orange, ate Ana and I wore both the same outfit, t-shirt and denim skirt. "Pinag-usapan niyo ba yan?" said ate Sha. Hehe Oh well, magpipinsan eh. Actually, the same thing happened the day before when Pat and I met at UST last Saturday. Coincidentally, he wore green and I wore green. Haha funny. Meant to be. Going back, I took a picture of a photo of Papang. He's 80 something here. Anyway, I miss him.

Maybe he's the reason why I always have a soft heart for Lolos... and maybe that's one of the reasons why I want to vote for Joker Arroyo. Too bad I'm not voting. :D
